Community of Support

I see you there, product person.
You’re the one thinking about tomorrow’s stakeholder review meeting at night while you’re brushing your teeth.

You’re the one that wakes up at 3 am with an epiphany about how to solve that problem that didn’t quite get cracked in yesterday’s solution design meeting.

You’re the one trying to balance an annual budgeting process against a quarterly roadmap.

You’re the one trying to figure out how to wedge a design sprint into your already-packed sprint plan, knowing that there are real risks to value if you don’t, and risks to your release schedule if you do.

You love working in product, but it sure can be a lonely place at times.

You don’t need more training. You need a community.

When you’re the only one practicing real digital product management in your company, you don’t have anywhere to go to ask for advice from people that have been where you are.

You want to know how other people in your shoes are managing the daily needs of their product team against the big-picture, discovery-oriented activities that you know you should be doing.

The Product Masterminds is the community of practice you need, the one you have been looking for.

Every member is vetted through a simple, yet direct, application process, to ensure they are of similar experience levels and are interested in honing their craft in a collaborative environment. The weekly meeting agendas are focused on the demands facing product people and allow you to bring your very specific needs to the table for input and ideas from other product professionals. Topics may include:

  • What does a good product strategy look like?

  • How do I effectively – and efficiently – manage internal stakeholders?

  • How can I strengthen my relationships with ops and engineering teams?

  • What does it mean to be a great product leader, and how can I advance my career in product management?

  • How can I push my company to think about prioritization and funding models differently?

  • How do I find and make time to be more proactive in the discovery and design phases of my product cycle?

Meet Our Facilitators

Jen Swanson is a master problem-solver and Product “Sherpa”, who has built, scaled, and coached product teams in nearly every kind of environment – from start-up to enterprise, in finance, health care, education, media, CPG, and logistics. She knows the right way to nudge, coach, train, and reframe the way people and technology come together and make magic happen for customers and the businesses that serve them. And she’s going to help you master these things too.

Kelly Knight is the real deal when it comes to product talent. She has built her career in the trenches with her product teams, working across healthcare, financial services, public sector, and legal industries. No stranger to the tough work of balancing the needs of the user against the regulatory and compliance requirements of the organization, Kelly manages to keep a bright attitude and insatiable curiosity in even the most daunting circumstances. You’ll come to understand how powerful her blend of knowledge and support can be for those lucky enough to know and work with her.

  • Unlimited access to “extracurricular” activities for future cohorts, as we build the Product Mastermind community.

It’s all about who you know.

We get it. You’re more likely to commit to a program like this if you know the caliber of the others in your cohort. We place a high value on privacy and confidentiality, but we can pull back the curtain just a bit to see who else has claimed their seat.

Here are the kinds of product people we had in our first cohort:
